About

The Blue, Gold, & Black (BGB) Archive is a dynamic digital archive meant to reflect the Black experience at Pitt through the years. It is coordinated by the University Library System and the Office for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion with support from the Office of the Provost (Dr. John Wallace, Vice Provost for Faculty Diversity and Development).

The Archive has two main components:

  • A selection of materials documenting the Black experience at Pitt, drawn from the University Library System’s Archives & Special Collections.
  • Materials submitted by you, the current and former University of Pittsburgh community. If you are a current or former member of the Pitt community, we encourage you to share your stories and photos. Materials can be submitted anytime from anywhere. Help us help you to tell your story with your words and images.
