Brandin Knight played for the Pitt Men's Basketball Team from 1999-2003 and is known for being one of the reasons for the Panthers’ basketball revival. During his time at Pitt, he led his team to two consecutive Big East regular-season titles, two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances, and the program’s first Big East Tournament title in 2003. His career as Pitt's point guard earned him many awards and accolades such as All-American honors in 2002 and 2003, and the Big East’s Co-Most Valuable Player. He also still holds Pitt records for career assists (785), career assist average (6.2 per game), career steals (298), and others. After his career at Pitt, he played professionally for two years and then served on the Pitt men's basketball staff from 2006-16. He is currently the Associate Head Coach at Rutgers University. Knight's #20 jersey was retired in 2009 and he was inducted into the Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020.
