Johnson stands as the top scorer in the history of Pitt basketball, both men's and women's, with an impressive 2,312 points accumulated during her time from 1987 to 1991. Over the course of 113 games, she maintained an average of 20.5 points per game. Notably, she set the school record for most points scored in a single game with a remarkable 45-point performance against Kent State in 1990. Her 266 field goals made during the 1988-1989 season are also a Pitt record. Johnson's exceptional talent earned her recognition as a three-time All-Big East player, receiving first-team honors twice. She made history as the first women's basketball player at Pitt to have her jersey number, 24, retired by the university. Lorri Johnson was inducted into the Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019.
